The Off Road Clinic Venturer Trailer was developed to give clinical access to areas where normal road going clinics are not able to travel to. The twin axled fifth wheel lightweight articulated trailer was coupled to a Landrover Defender which we converted into a fifth wheel towing vehicle complete with compressor for the air brakes on the trailer, road lighting and fifth wheel unit.
The 8 metre trailer has massive ground clearances and neck clearances to enable it to go over rough terrain but give a good useable space. The clinic surgery itself is around 3.5 metres long and the waiting/ reception area is 2.5 metres long with the storage and service section in the nose being another 2 metres long. The nose houses a built in diesel generator and an air conditioning unit as well as two large storage cupboards with water tanks and waste tanks built in.
The pressed steel chassis is robust and has been tested over rough terrain on an off road testing course in all weathers. It has LED lighting fitted throughout, a pharmacy fridge, electrical couch and is even able to be converted from a clinic by demounting the cupboards and divider wall through the double doors at the rear.
