In these uncertain times the need for research in medical fields is key to fighting these diseases which are affecting our everyday lives. This mobile pharmacy research clinic vehicle we have just built for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in association with Cytiva has a range of facilities in a compact vehicle which is self contained to be able to be deployed anywhere. The Neat Vehicles unit is an Iveco 8000 Kg rigid truck with three rooms and a waiting area. On board is a phlebotomy clinic which also doubles as a general clinic, the chair reclines and converts into an examination couch. Within this area is a minus 20 degrees pharmacy freezer, an air conditioning unit, sink with hot and cold running water, storage and a consultation desk. Alongside this is the waiting area with two flip up waiting seats and an office desk with additional storage above and the UPS system which can power the freezers and fridges when the mains power is not on. In the entrance area there is a standalone handwash sink, and a dividing curtain to separate the phlebotomy area from the waiting/ office area. In the bathroom is a cassette type toilet, handwash sink, plinth heater and extractor unit.
The mobile pharmacy vehicle has a laboratory in the front with a minus 80 degrees freezer, a minus 20 degree freezer and a pharmacy fridge all linked into the UPS. Worksurfaces, lower and upper storage cupboards and air conditioning unit are installed in this room with an anti-static floor throughout with earth bonding copper strips below the insulated floor. In each room there is LED slimline panel lighting and a UVC light which enables the room to be disinfected by simply turning the light on and exiting the unit for 15 minutes.
The mobile clinic vehicle is powered by a Fisher Panda Super silent 10 kva generator which has seperate radiator below the chassis and is built into the belly lockers. The unit can also run from a mains landline via a changeover switch. Water and waste tanks are fitted in the unit with an electrical 3kw water heater. Air conditioning and heating is a double split system with the condenser unit built into the belly lockers below floor. The mobile research vehicle has 4 automatically self-levelling legs with remote control which are standing on 4 No. spreader pads, also situated in the belly locker. Disabled access is provided by a PLS built in 24 Volt disabled lift with integral handrails and remote lead.
