We are sad to announce that Dave Townsend, who was the main man at Vipex and a massive inspiration to us all at Neat Vehicles passed away on the 9th May 2020 after a long illness. He will be sadly missed and is irreplaceable as a father, grandfather, husband, designer, engineer and all round genius who came up with some amazing ideas and unlike many ideas people could put them into practice with his extensive engineering background. He passed away at Mansfield Kings Mill Hospital aged 80 years old and the world of big boys toys will not be the same without him. He was the founder of Vipex along with his three sons, Nigel, Calvin and Chris and for 30 years was very much at the helm. He carried on designing things right up until the last, he taught himself Solidworks 3d Modelling over the last few years and was so enthusiastic about new methods of design. We will always remember his sense of humour, his ability to solve problems at the drop of a hat and also the way he could drive away tax inspectors with their tails between their legs. There will be a memorial service for him in the future, when restrictions allow the numbers, where a tree will be planted in Sherwood Forest and his ashes buried below the tree with a plaque. Anyone who knew him and would like to attend should contact Nigel Townsend on the main number.
